Discovering the right work is like discovering your soul in the world.

__BOULDER _________________________________

Are you bored with life?
Then throw yourself into
some work you believe in
with all your heart;
live for it, die for it,
and you will find happiness
that you had thought could never be yours.
-Dale Carnegie, submitted by Terry H., Franklin WI

__PONDER _________________________________

Are you bored, overwhelmed, confused, or just not sufficiently motivated to accomplish your best work right now?

I dare you to jump up and tackle one tiny task that you believe in strongly. Make a $10 donation to a non-profit that is doing good work, find a blog entry you agree with and post a comment, or choose a simple errand or task from your "to do" list that you know you will enjoy--or at least feel good about checking off your list.

Then grab the positive energy flow from that task and jump into a bigger project: soon you will be zooming through YOUR RIGHT WORK!

Peace,
Paul

There is no such thing in anyone's life as an unimportant day.
-Alexander Woollcott, submitted by Cindy K, Green Bay WI

__BOULDER _________________________________

To live each day
With love
With joy.
To take each moment
As it's own
Absent both expectation and grief.
Simple moments
Free of filters
That alone are full and rich
And need nothing more.
How glorious life becomes
When such moments are strung end to end.
Creating your own eternity
How you lived it,
One rich, colorful, fully realized,
Moment at a time.
-written and submitted by Melanie J. Palmer

Welcome to your crazy day.

I suspect you have at least a gazillion things to accomplish today, and each must be done efficiently and fabulously. How preposterous, indeed how presumptuous, for me to add one more thing to your to do list. But I will add this item, and I hope you find the time and the courage to comply:

Enjoy this precious, important day!.

Peace,
Paul

All big things in this world are done by people who are naive

If you have an apple and I have an apple
and we exchange these apples
then you and I will still each have one apple.

But if you have an idea and I have an idea
and we exchange these ideas,
then each of us will have two ideas.
-George Bernard Shaw, submitted by Laurie S., La Grange IL

Seek out a creative soul and invite them to snack with you or chat on the phone to brainstorm exciting possibilities for a tiny or humongous challenge you are facing. Spend 5 minutes being outrageously, courageously creative, and then offer them another 5 minutes to seek a fresh idea for her/him.

I assure you it can be delicious and nutritious!

Peace,
Paul
p.s. Thanks to some awesome Ripplers, we raised an additional $1,000 for the Central Asia Institute...I sent donors a postcard but forgot to mention that we'll be matching that $1,000 which means that together we raised over $8,000 for CAI! Way to share, Ripplers!

To each there comes in their lifetime a special moment
when they are figuratively tapped on the shoulder
and offered the chance to do a very special thing,
unique to them and fitted to their talents.

What a tragedy if that moment finds them
unprepared or unqualified for that
which could have been their finest hour.
-Winston Churchill, submitted by Judy A., Carbondale IL

Many of us are enjoying the holiday weekend and PREPARING for the fall semester. Whether your life revolves around an academic calendar or not, I hope you can take a few moments this week to think about a "very special thing" you might be called to do in 2009 and what you could do in the next few months to PREPARE for it. Baby steps, my friend, just take a few baby steps this week and see what happens....

Oh, and there is still time to help out with last week's challenge! Just send a check made out to CENTRAL ASIA INSTITUE and mail it to Ripples for CAI, 1360 Regent St #342, Madison WI 53715. The Ripples Project Foundation will MATCH all checks received by the end of this week and forward them to Greg!

Peace,
Paul
