The Ripples Project is a tribe of 21,274
who believe tiny actions create big possibilities
_______
PEBBLE
It's not what you gather but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived!
-Helen Walton, submitted by Carol C., Elmira NY
_________
BOULDER
There's more, much more, to Christmas
Than candlelight and cheer;
It's the spirit of sweet friendship
That brightens all year.
It's thoughtfulness and kindness,
It's hope reborn again,
For peace, for understanding,
And for goodwill to men!
-source unknown, submitted by Jacob, R., Menasha WI
_________
PONDER
Whether you are gathering with family/friends or celebrating solo, I hope you are able to scatter some "thoughtfulness and kindness" to those you encounter this week. Happy Solstice, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, and indeed Happy Christmas to you too!
Peace,
Paul
p.s. No Ripples next week; we will see you in 2009
Our weekly splash of inspiration for our team of busy people who believe in the power of uRock: unleashing Ripples of compassion & kindness. #uRock

Ripples v10.50: Shock Absorbers!
Ripples v10.50: Shock Absorbers!
The Ripples Project: a tribe of 21,272
who believe tiny actions create big possibilities
_______
PEBBLE
The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.
-e.e.cummings, submitted by Gail H., Portland OR
_________
BOULDER
Laughter is to life
what shock absorbers are to automobiles.
It won't take the potholes out of the road,
but it sure makes the ride a lot smoother.
-Barbara Johnson, submitted by Amanda P., La Crosse WI
_________
PONDER
There is so much STUFF going on right now in your life and in the world. Some of it is really serious which makes it even MORE important that you take time every day to laugh! So, search online for a good joke, call a friend who always makes you giggle, or ask yourself why the chicken crossed the road and let whatever pops up lead to a good belly laugh. After all, a chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion! (source: http://www.jokesclean.com/ )
Peace & haha to you,
Paul

Ripples v10.49: Decide!
Ripples v10.49: Decide! (Dec 8, 2008)
The Ripples Project: our tribe of 21,275
who believe tiny actions create big possibilities
_______
PEBBLE
If you wait to do everything until you're sure it's right,
you'll probably never do much of anything.
-Win Borden, submitted by Brett B, Madison WI
_________
BOULDER
Be willing to make decisions.
That's the most important quality in a good leader.
Don't fall victim to what I call
the Ready-Aim-Aim-Aim Syndrome.
You must be willing to fire.
-T. Boone Pickens, submitted by: Yuridia R., Reedsburg WI
_________
PONDER
Decide. You won't have to make the decision instantly and without thought. You will need to make the decision eventually. If it is time, just take a deep breath, remember that perfection is for amateurs (unless you're a heart surgeon), glance once more at the options and the available information, and DECIDE!
Peace,
Paul

Ripples v10.48: Sweet Aloneness! (Dec 1, 2008)
The Ripples Project is our tribe of 21,318
who believe small actions create big possibilities.
_______
PEBBLE
Be able to be alone.
Lose not the advantage of solitude, and the society of thyself.
-Sir Thomas Browne, submitted by Dottie J., Cincinnati OH
_________
BOULDER
Sometimes it takes darkness and
the sweet confinement of your aloneness
to learn anything or anyone
that does not bring you alive
is too small for you.
-David Whyte, submitted by Karen H., Sheboygan WI
_________
PONDER
As I prepare to disappear into the mountains for my annual retreat, I invite you to join me in spirit: find a few precious moments in your schedule and seek a quiet spot away from your crazy life to sit, ponder, breathe and be. It will help us return to life refreshed and ready for some exciting new possibilities for this evolving tribe of Ripplers....details early in 2009!
Peace,
Paul
p.s. I have queued up Ripples for a few weeks, so you will still receive your weekly splash while I am on retreat!
