To be able to shift from REACTING in life
to RESPONDING is very powerful.
To be able to know what happens to you does not make a difference, but
that what you do with what happens to you makes all the difference.
To know you have a conscious choice is of the essence.

THE 9 ASPECTS OF LIFE
The adventure of life is to learn.
The purpose of life is to grow.
The nature of life is to change.
The challenge of life is to overcome.
The essence of life is to care.
The opportunity of life is to serve.
The secret of life is to dare.
The spice of life is to befriend.
The beauty of life is to give.

PONDER ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I just wrapped up a truly exhilarating and utterly exhausting leadership
conference. Exhilarating because I enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting
new people. Exhausting because I poured every fiber of my being into the
closing address. The conference was on ethics in leadership, and I spent a
fair amount of time exploring our relentless pursuit of RIGHTS and our
apparent abdication of RESPONSIBILITY.

We have been hearing much about the failures of the health care system and
our quest for a "patient's bill of rights." I read in a Newsweek article
that the average American family spends 5% of their income on health
care/medical needs, and 10% of their income on dining and entertainment
expenses.

I agree that we need patient rights, but what about patient responsibility?
I also understand our concern about losing our rights around gun control,
but what about our responsibilities?

If you have been concerned lately about your rights, make sure you are
spending some time pondering your RESPONSIBILITY. How are you involving
yourself as a citizen in your community?

We need you! -ptw
