eRipples v3.03: Ripples of SERVICE!

eRipples: a free weekly splash of inspiration
version 3.03 [Monday, January 15, 2001]

Happy Birthday, Dr. King! We're still dreaming down here, and we're
still inspired by your dreams!

PEBBLE ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

An individual has not started living
until he can rise above the narrow confines
of his individualistic concerns
to the broader concerns of all humanity.
-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. submitted by Jane Henderson

BOULDER ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

We are prone to judge success
by the index of our salaries
or the size of our automobiles
rather than
by the quality of our service
and relationship to mankind.
-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

PONDER ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I spent last week in New York and New Jersey with several groups
exploring a variety of workshop topics. A couple of the workshops
were about customer service, some were on leadership development, and
a few others tackled personal empowerment. A common theme in the
presentations was the notion of service. Whether we are trying to
keep customers happy, develop leadership skills, or optimize our
personal potential, it is essential that we seek a path that includes
serving others. Every moment we spend helping someone else becomes a
sacred moment, an opportunity to open our soul to the universe. And
remember the irony in selfless service: the act of serving others
benefits YOU in countless ways.

I hope you can celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Day with at least one
unexpected, unplanned, perhaps unacknowledged act of service toward
another!

Peace to you,

Paul
