Sometimes, in life, you are the windshield,

Be of good cheer.
Do not think of today's failures,
but of the success that may come tomorrow.
You have set yourselves a difficult task,
but you will succeed if you persevere;
and you will find joy in overcoming obstacles.
Remember, no effort that we make
to attain something beautiful
is ever lost.

If you have smashed into something recently, or if something has smashed into you, just know that you are not alone! Everyone experiences WINDSHIELDS and BUGS occasionally, and right this moment there is someone out there who has survived the yuckiness you're facing, and there is almost certainly someone waiting to help you whether you need a pat on the back, some advice, or perhaps a few squirts of Windex!

Peace,
Paul

Have friends.
They are a second being.

I have just finished a most artful week of FRIENDS!

I began my journey with a stop in Illinois to reconnect with a childhood classmate and a brief pause in Indiana for a squeeze from a longtime training colleague (and most excellent hugger!). On Thursday I made some new connections at the Jennings County United Way before heading to Cincinnati for a weekend reunion with grad school buddies and their ebullient families. I finished the weekend bonding with my bestest best bubba. While I have known them all for different lengths of time, I am so honored to call all of these remarkable people my FRIENDS!

This bounty of friendship reminds me that among our most precious resources are the deep and satisfying connections we make with others. Can you take a moment right now to contact a dear friend or two who might enjoying hearing how much you appreciate having them in your life?

Thinking about it is good; actually doing it could be more wondrous and magical than you expect.

Peace,
Paul

Shhhhhhh......

Be very, very quiet. We're hearing your music!

Take a few minutes right now to listen to your environment, your day, your very soul. Listen for a drum beat of hope, a rhythm of possibility, a melody of passion that is inviting you to dance your very own dance.

Boom, boom, boom....do you hear it?

You go, girl, YOU GO!

Peace,
Paul

What are you up to this week? Whether you are beginning a typical work week, taking a summer class, or simply on a break, I think you could make this week magnificent if you paused right now to imagine some remarkable possibilities. Be creative, be daring, be bold in your vision. Imagine it, tell someone about it, and then go DO IT!

Oh, and could I trouble you for a big favor? As I prepare for the fall, I would love to replenish my pile of quote submissions with some fresh quotes. If you have come across a good one lately, please consider sending it (along with the source and your name and hometown). If you have an extra moment to format it like the quotes above, that makes it even easier for me to cut and paste them into a future issue!

Peace,
Paul
